Starting in Wyoming where the plains meet the mountains, take a bison train tour at Terry Bison Ranch in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Get up and close to the huge beasts and learn about the ranch.

Traveling to Nevada, tour the Battle Mountain Cookhouse Museum, housed in a restored 1920s cookhouse. See displays of Native American and Chinese art and artifacts.

Four-hour ride on an Amtrak Train, from Reno, Nevada, through the High Sierras to Sacramento, California. All aboard the 100-year-old Redwood Forest Steam Train. Learn about the massive and ancient trees in California’s coastal redwood forest.

Tour through the Winchester Mystery House – a 36-year renovation project – which took an eight-room farmhouse to a 24,000-square-foot mansion.

In Santa Cruz, spend the day at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center and on the water watching whales!

Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park will be our final stop in California. Then it’s on to Utah to hear the Tabernacle Choir during rehearsal and to take a scenic ride up the mountains in Park City.
