The Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona covers 346-square miles of petrified wood and eroded and colorful buttes.
Near the east end of the Grand Canyon, nature brings art to life in the Painted Desert with colorful stripes in the earth of the eroded mountains.
Actually a reservoir, Lake Powell is otherworldly. Explore it on a Navajo Canyon Boat Ride. See the Glen Canyon Dam – the second largest concrete arch dam in the USA.
View towering Navajo Sandstone geologic formations with stunning red and burnt orange rocks. The walls of Navajo Canyon are 600′ above the water and some are as deep below as they are high.
Travel 65 miles on the historic Grand Canyon Railway to the south rim of the canyon. It follows the same route as did early adventurers to the Grand Canyon.
Traveling into Utah, we will explore Arches National Park with its more than 2,000 sandstone arches and redhued rock formations.
On the Georgetown Loop Railroad, travel through the Rocky Mountains on a narrow-gauge between Georgetown and Silver Plume.
