December is a perfect time to visit the Windy City! Check into your room along Michigan Avenue and get ready for a great tour as the city lights guide the way for a splendid holiday season.
As we drive through Chicago, be sure to gaze at the beautiful skyline. Your step-on guide will introduce you to the many wonders: history, culture, and architecture. We will drive through the U of Chicago campus and down Millionaire’s Row where the rich and famous, circa1880-1920 lived.
Visit the Museum of Science and Industry for Christmas Trees Around the World exhibit. A 45′ grand tree serves as a centerpiece. Then it’s on to the German outdoor market – Christkindl – in Daley Plaza. Before retiring for the night, “climb” 90 stories in less than a minute at the John Hancock Building. Your head will spin (maybe just your body) as you are mesmerized by the beauty of the Chicago skyline.
On our second day, you’ll be treated to the poinsettia show at Lincoln Park Conservatory. We’ll head back downtown to see the grand mosaics at the Cultural Center. Chicago’s Navy Pier is a must for visitors. Enjoy free time eating and shopping.
After shopping at the indoor Water Tower Place, explore the interactive Chicago Sports Museum and find your inner child. Is coffee your thing? Grab a cup and a snack from the world’s largest Starbucks on Miracle Mile as you relax and get ready for still more adventure – Chicago style.
At the Goodman Theatre, kick off your Christmas season as you “live” the timeless Christmas tradition, A Christmas Carol. The Goodman infuses Charles Dickens’ classic tale with a bit of Goodman magic. Delight in seeing the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge during his memorable Christmas Eve.
