Pikes Peak Cog Railway – Travel on the world’s highest cog train, ascending Pikes Peak, climbing to 14,115-feet and experience the magnificent panoramas that inspired the song: “America the Beautiful.”
Air Force Academy – First stop will be the Barry Goldwater Visitor Center, named for the retired Arizona senator, you will learn about the academy and the cadet experience. Then it is off to the Cadet Chapel, an example of modern architecture, it was completed in 1962 and is the most distinguishing feature in the academy.
Garden of the Gods – Millions of years of erosion created this breathtaking landscape features ancient sedimentary beds of deep red, pink and white sandstone, conglomerates and limestone.
Royal Gorge Route Railway – Climb aboard Colorado’s most scenic train for a journey through the spectacular Royal Gorge. Since 1879 these tracks have followed the winding, tumbling Arkansas River deep within the soaring 1,000 foot granite cliffs of Colorado’s Royal Gorge.
Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad – The longest, highest, and most authentic steam railroad in N America. Crosses Colorado and New Mexico borders 11 times, zigzagging along canyon walls, burrowing through two tunnels and a trestle.
Verde Canyon Railroad – Opened in 1912, this 38-mile branch of the Santa Fe Railway following the Verde River and traveling through a 680-foot tunnel, as well as the Prescott and Coconino National Forests.
Mesa Verde National Park – Spanish for “green table” this park offers a spectacular look into the lives of the ancestral Pueblo people with over 5,000 known archaeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings.
Georgetown Loop Railroad – This narrow gauge railway winding through the Colorado Mountains was completed in 1884. Half way up the mountain, stop at Lebanon Silver Mine. Dating back to 1870 you will tour the mine with guides who will point out silver veins.
Rocky Mountain National Park – This park is full of majestic mountain views, mountain lakes and a variety of wildlife, as well as, the Continental Divide and the Colorado River.
