Visit Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, CO. See dramatic views of towering sandstone formations against the backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak. Then travel to the summit of Pike’s Peak on the Pikes Peak Cog Railroad. For 115 years the highest Railroad in the U.S. has been taking passengers to the 14,110 foot summit. You will enjoy fantastic rock formations, spectacular vistas and breathtaking cliffs.

Start your morning with a visit to the US Air Force Academy. The Visitors Center features displays on its history & cadet life and a movie high-lighting the academy experience. Tour the 17-spired Cadet Chapel, an all-faiths house of worship with four chapels. Then travel to the Royal Gorge Park & Bridge. Walk across America’s highest Suspension Bridge; and travel to the bottom of the Gorge on the worlds steepest Incline Railway that was ever built. You will descend over 1,500 feet to the canyon floor.

Board the Cumbres & Toltee Railroad in Antonito, CO. to view fantastic fall foliage, especially the yellow of the Aspens. The railroad’s equipment, structures, and vast landscape exist today as if frozen in the first half of the twentieth century. The time has long passed when the railroad last hauled precious metals over Cumbres Pass, but its steam locomotives still labor up steep grades carrying visitors over high trestles, through tunnels, and along narrow shelves above yawning gorges.

Then we’ll ride the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway. The line was constructed to haul silver & gold ore from the San Juan Mountains, but passengers soon realized it was the view that was truly precious. This historic train has been in continuous operation for 127 years, carrying passengers behind vintage steam locomotives and rolling stock indigenous to the line.

All aboard the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad. A Colorado adventure you will not forget. Located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, this scenic train trip provides 2 1/2 hours of sightseeing, relaxation, and a little glimpse back in history.

On the way home stop by the Golden Spike Towwer in North Platte. Take the eleavator to the top of this tower that rises 8 stories above Union Pacifics 2,850-acre Bailey Yard, the worlds largest train yard
