Day 1 - Prior to free time browsing and shopping at the 15-block Country Club Plaza, get an overview of the city with the enlightenment of a step on guide. Country Club Plaza, home to more than 150 shops and dozens of fine restaurants, is considered a premier destination in Kansas City. Stroll through the Hallmark Visitors Center featuring Hallmark Live, Keepsake Ornaments, and many interactive displays and fascinating exhibits giving you a glimpse into the rich history and creative spirit of Hallmark. Our next stop is the inspiring National World War I Memorial and Museum. All aboard for a stop at Union Station, the 100-year-old hub of culture, education, and entertainment. This historic building has something for everyone.

Day 2 - In Independence, we’ll tour the Truman Library to experience the life of Harry S. Truman, America’s 33rd president. Explore Truman’s life, presidency, and learn how he saved the White House with an extreme makeover. A visit to the lovely Vaile Mansion brings back memories of Christmas past with its richly decorated interior and lovely grounds. Built in 1881, this three-story Gothic-like structure has 31 rooms including 9 marble fireplaces which are hand carved out of Italian marble with onyx accents. The solid black walnut grand staircase welcomes visitors as they enter the vestibule doors.
