Take some time to explore this reconstruction of the village where our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln spent his early adulthood. Arrive in Springfield in time for the Kickback at the Drury Inn.
No trip to Springfield would be complete without a trip to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. This dynamic institution preserves the Lincoln legacy with ever-expanding collections that are essential to understanding the history of Illinois most famous citizen. After lunch it is off to the Lincoln Home Historical Site. Take a guided tour of the only home that Lincoln owned. Then take some time to explore the four blocks of the historical area surrounding the site. Return to the Drury Inn just in time for Kickback.
Before leaving Springfield, stop at Oak Ridge Cemetery for a self-guided tour of the Lincoln Tomb, the final resting place for Lincoln, his wife Mary and three of their sons. Tour the granite interior of the 117 foot obelisk. Your memories will last a life time
